Shane Henry – Tuesday Night Tunes
I look forward to finding new music. The good news is you usually find what you’re looking for if you don’t give up. Glad I found Shane Henry today. Music speaks to us on an emotional level. It can change your mood in a moment.
I’m not a musician but as a recovering engineer I get some of the emotions I see in this video. The thing that struck me is how much they seem to enjoy what they’re doing. I remember that feeling of elation when something I built worked for the first time. That first complete cycle that worked flawlessly. I relate that to a song well played, harmonies sung, drums hit at precisely the right moment. Everything worked!
I love story too. Below he talked about moving into a new city (Los Angeles was a place I lived for a time and I get it). Trying to figure out the highways, traffic, where to buy coffee, the important things.
One of the things about doing this series is it takes me to places in my head I didn’t expect.
As I listened to this one I found myself thinking about the agents getting into this business. My career in real estate has been a roller coaster ride at times. It takes time to find your rhythm. I’ve focused on connections and relationships and that leads to referrals. Most new agents in this business don’t think that’s possible (it is but they don’t think that’s true) so they search for their own rhythm. We all can relate to that as we start a new venture. New city, new job, new relationships, marriage, divorce, kids, getting a dog, anything new requires you to find your rhythm. To seek out our space in the new venue.
My focus right now is thinking about a new rhythm. Susan (my wife) is retiring from the public school system where she has worked the last 11 years. It’s time and we are talking about her joining me in this business. Getting her real estate license and helping me as long as I don’t tell her what to do 🙂
I’m anxious to get started in a new rhythm and seeing that come to life.
I trust this was enjoyable for you or you’d be gone by now 🙂 I enjoyed getting to do it.
My question for you is “what new thing are you starting?”. If you struggle to find the answer then maybe it’s time to spend a few minutes thinking about it. If you aren’t growing and expanding your world then it’s shrinking.
Where are you growing?
Thanks for listening,
Jerry Robertson
